Spa Policies and Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in my spa experience?
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by one of our Spa Coordinators, and your spa day will begin with some complimentary water, wine, or champagne. Those receiving multiple services will be directed to our restroom facilities where we offer robes, and spa slippers to change into. A Spa Coordinator will assign you to a locker where you may lock up any personal belongings and valuables for the duration of your visit.

*Please note that for single services, including couples massages, robes and lockers are available upon request — we ask that you let your Spa Coordinator know if you’d like to change or lock up your items.

You will then be lead to our quiet Relaxation Room to enjoy your beverage and fill out any paperwork necessary before being greeted by your technician and escorted to your treatment room. A brief consultation with your technician will help them better understand your needs and customize your treatment to benefit you. After your service, your technician will greet you with spa water and lead you to the relaxation room, restroom, or front desk to check out depending on your spa day schedule.

Do I need an appointment?
An appointment is preferable, especially if requesting a certain time or therapist. We do accept walk-ins, as available, but it is always a good idea to reserve an appointment.

How do I decide which treatment is right for me?
Our Spa Coordinators will help you plan the perfect spa experience with a luxurious day customized just for you! Call or e-mail us to begin planning your spa day.

When should I arrive for my appointment?
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to fully benefit from the experience. Once you’ve checked in, you’ll have a chance to unwind in our relaxation room, and enjoy a complimentary glass of spa water, hot tea, wine, or champagne.

What if I am late for my appointment?
If you’re running late for your appointment, please call the spa and we will do our best to make adjustments so that you may enjoy all of the time that was scheduled. However, please understand that this won’t always be possible. Arriving late may result in a shortened service, with the charge reflecting the original service price.

What is your cancellation policy?
Single Service cancellation requires a 24-hour advance notice.
Two or More Services cancellation requires a 48-hour advance notice.
A credit card is necessary to secure an appointment. Any cancellation less than 24 hours in advance will be charged to your credit card at an amount equal to 50 percent of the service booked. No shows will be charged 100 percent of the service booked.

What are your payment policies?
Appointments must be reserved with a credit card or gift card number on file. We accept payments by cash, check, and all major credit cards for services, as well as, gratuities.
*For special offers, only one promotional offer may be used toward any regularly priced service.

Are gratuities included?
We do not include gratuity in our service rates, but we do recommend leaving at least 20% gratuity for your tech if you enjoyed your service! The gratuity for any discounted rates will be calculated from the regular price of the service.

Where will I keep my personal items?
If you are having multiple services, you will receive a locker for your items. For a single service, you will undress and bring your items into the treatment room with you. Of course, lockers are always available upon request — just let your Spa Coordinator know!

How should I dress for my treatment?
Comfortably! Following your consultation, your technician will step out and leave you to undress to your comfort level in the treatment room prior to your service and re-dress afterward. Guests with multiple appointments will change into a robe before their services to make the transition between treatment rooms easier. Some guests do prefer a robe for a single treatment — if this is the case, simply let your Spa Coordinator know you’d like to receive a spa robe at check-in. If you are getting a spray-tan, we recommend wearing something loose and dark in the case that any color rubs off onto clothing.

What if I have some physical ailment, disability, or allergies?
Please let a Spa Coordinator know when booking your appointment so that we may accommodate you fully. We also encourage you to include this information in our client intake form for new clients.

May I request a male or female technician?
Yes. If you have a gender preference, please advise one of our Spa Coordinators at the time of making your appointment. Although we cannot guarantee the availability of a particular therapist, we will make every effort to accommodate your preferences. All of our therapists are trained to respect and protect your privacy at all times.

Are there any rules of etiquette?
We do ask that cell phones and electronic devices are switched to silent while in the relaxation room or treatment rooms so as to not disturb other guests, and to fully enjoy your spa experience.

What are your policies for young adults under 18?
Young adults must be supervised by parent or guardian while participating in spa services, including massage, body treatments, facials or any one-on-one services. We require a parent or guardian accompany young adults under the age of 13 into the designated treatment room and remain present for the duration of the service. Parental consent is required for young adults between the ages of 14 – 17. All forms and documentation to be filled out will be made available upon arrival.
*Please note that we will match the gender of the technician to the gender of your child.

What should I do before an airbrush spray tan?
Before receiving an airbrush spray tan, you should shower and exfoliate your skin. Make sure to not have any oils or lotions on your skin when you come for your appointment.

How long do I have to wait after my spray tan before I can shower?
It is recommended that you wait at least (6) six to (8) eight hours before taking a shower after receiving a spray tan in order to receive maximum results! Be advised that clothing may receive color residue during the tans setting period. It is best to dress for these services in loose fitted casual wear.

Can I purchase a gift certificate online or over the phone?
You may purchase a gift certificate over the phone or online! If you purchase online, you have the option of having the gift certificate emailed to you, or to the intended recipient.

Can you do two facials in the same room?
At this time, facials are done individually. While we do offer a Couples Massage in our elegant couples room, we do not have that option for facials at this time.

Some of your packages include a light spa lunch. What does lunch consist of?
The spa lunch comes from one of two neighboring restaurants. Villa-O is an Italian restaurant, and Fernando’s is a Mexican restaurant. You will be given a menu and may select an item from one of the restaurants to enjoy for lunch.

Does a Couples Massage have to be a romantic couple? Can it be a friend or family member?
A Couples Massage is available for anyone who wishes to have their services performed within the same room. You do not have to be a romantic couple to enjoy our luxurious couples room!

If I have a package, do I have to have all of the services the same day?
If you received a gift certificate for a customized package, you do not have to do all of the services the same day. You can divide the services into different days.

Does this spa have a sauna?
Yes! We currently have (1) one infrared sauna available and will soon be incorporating more in the upcoming months, along with the addition of float tanks! Our current infrared sauna comfortably accommodates up to (2) two people during a single session.

If I choose to host a party at your spa (bridal, birthday, work, etc.), can I bring in my own food and beverage?
If you host a party here at Riviera Spa, you are more than welcome to bring your own food and beverage in.
*Please note that all parties are required to pay a deposit on the day of scheduling appointments. The deposit amount is 50 percent of the grand total from the combined services.

Do you offer a Military discount?
Absolutely! Our Military discount is 15% off regular priced services.

Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are non-refundable and may only be used on spa services. Gift certificates must be presented at time of arrival.

Customized packages are available for all occasions. Whether your occasion is a wedding, reunion, corporate function or social gathering, Riviera Spa is here to cater to your every whim. Please contact the Spa Coordinator for details and pricing.

Riviera Spa is an upscale day spa committed to ensuring the comfort of all our clients. We reserve the right to refuse service for improper behavior. In such cases, services will be terminated and the treatment charges will remain unchanged.
